In the new version of Windows 10, Microsoft introduced an acrylic blur effect on the login screen. The blur effect not only looks good on almost any wallpaper but also lets the login password or pin field come into our focus. That being said, if you don't like this, you can disable blur on the login screen with just a few clicks. Let me show you how.

Like for many things on Windows, there are two ways to turn off acrylic blur effect on the login screen. The first method uses the Group Policy Editor and the second method uses the Windows Registry. If you are using Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise edition, follow the Group Policy method. It's easy and quick.

Starting with the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 1903), as part of the Fluent Design System gradual rollout, the Sign-in screen adds an acrylic effect that blurs the background, removing surrounding clutter and helping you to focus the attention in the login task.
